Nursery plant sale

We are organic vegetables farmers and our first objective is to produce organic vegetables.  Therefore, we select varieties of plants that are appropriate for organic growth and Upper Laurentians’s climate, thus being resistant/tolerant to diseases.

We grow a wide variety of organic vegetable, flower and aromatic herb plants for our farm and your garden!

Opening dates for the nursery plant sale

  • At the farm, May 13th and 20th, from 10 am to 3 pm (Saturdays).
  • At the farm store, every Friday starting on May 26th, from 1 to 6 pm (until depletion of stocks).
  • Saturdays at the Val-David summer market: May 27th, June 3rd and 10th, from 9 am to 1 pm (until depletion of stocks).

OUR TOMATOES

Indeterminate tomatoes (4″ or 6″ containers)
Must be pruned.

  • Matina: Very early season tomato for northern climates. 100 to 140 g red fruits.  One of the most delicious early season tomatoes.
  • Damsel: Very tasty and productive pink tomato.  Less acidic than the red tomatoes.
  • Chef’s Choice
  • Jasper: Delicious and small cherry tomato, resistant to late season blist, cracking and many other diseases.  Very vigorous plant.
  • Sun sugar: Medium size lovely orange cherry tomato.  Incredibly sweet and tasty.  Three time more vitamin C than the red cherry tomato.  Good resistance to cracking and to tomatoes’ common diseases.
  • Sun peach:
  • Golden sweet: Beautiful yellow grape tomato.  As sweet as Sun sugar.  Resistance/tolerance to multiple diseases, including grey mold, an important greenhouse disease.  Very productive.

Determinate (bush) tomatoes  (4″ and 6″ containers)
Shall not be pruned.

  • Polbig: Best early season variety.  Hybrid variety selected for short season in cold climate where the majority of the other varieties do not have time to rip.  Medium size, sweet and beautiful dark red tomato. Resistant to many diseases.
  • Roma Supremo: Very early hibrid italian tomato, sweet and tasty with tender skin.  As good eaten fresh as used for cooking.  Excellent preservation.  Very good resistance to the majority of diseases.
  • Chiquita: Lovely oval shaped pink grape tomato.  Less acidic than red cherry tomato.  Half bush plant very strong and easy to cultivate.

Small garden and out of ground (in pot) cultivation tomatoes (6″ containers and hanging baskets)
Shall not be pruned.

  • Tiny tim: Red cherry tomatoes. Vigorous bush plant, very dense with minimal support needed.  Plantyfully produce small red fruits.
  • Panier jaune: Yellow cherry tomatoes.  Vigorous bush plant, very dense with minimal support needed.  Season long fruit production.
  • Red stripe: Similar to « panier jaune », but with dark green striped red fruits.
  • Megabite: Beefsteak type of big red tomatoes.  Vigorous bush plant, very dense with minimal support needed.  Easy to grow.

OUR OTHER VEGETABLES

  • Kale (4″ containers) : Curly or tuscan kale.  Very easy to grow.  Continuously produce new leafs all season long.  This vegetavle is very rich in vitamins and minerals.
  • « Fanfare » cucumber (set of 4 plants and hanging baskets) : American variety of cucumber being very productive and resistant to diseases.  Crispy, juicy and flavoured.
  • Summer and winter squashes: Diversity of summer (zucchini and pattypan) and winter squashes (spaghetti and butternut) that will help you harvest faster than seedling your owns.
  • « Ace » bell pepper (4″ containers) : Very early variety of squared bell pepper.  Could also be harvested green.  Perfect for cold climates.  Good resistance to diseases.
  • « Red Skin » and « Mohawk » bell pepper (6″ containers): Out of ground (in pot) variety.  Dense plant reaching 30 to 40 cm.  Medium size orange (Mohawk) and red (Red Skin) fruits.
  • « Goldie » ground cherry (4″ and 6″ containers) : Big bushy plant that is easy to grow.  Sweet and yellow fruits fall on the ground where they continue their riping protected in their shell.  Candy like surprise gift!
  • Oriental and Italian eggplant (4″ and 6″ containers) : The oriental eggplant produces earlier, a long and tender fruit.  The Italian eggplant produces plenty of big and rounded fruits if it has enough heat.
  • Lettuce (set of 6 unit cells) : Mix of delicious and colourful head lettuce varieties.
  • Artichoke (3 1/2 in containers): Wonderful plant to create an edible landscape.  Vernalized plant that will produce 2 to 5 artichokes per plant on the first year.
